Remembrance

I saw this flag one day last week as I was driving past Lowcountry Produce. I just thought it was a nice sight. I didn't know when or if I would ever use the picture until it dawned on me that today is 9-11. Oh the price we pay for freedom!

Don't you think that we really do have a beautiful flag? I watched a classroom full of Kindergarteners pledging allegiance to this flag this week with their hands over their hearts, learning that the flag is never to touch the ground. Brings a tear to the eye, I tell ya. They followed that pledge with the pledge of allegiance to the Christian flag and to the Bible.

You know, I couldn't come to a peaceful decision about where to send Riley to school. As parents, don't we often worry about making a wrong decision that could effect our child down the road? I worried that this was one of those times. But now, I'm so glad that I put him where I did. I'm glad that not only is it "okay" to talk about God in his school, but that it is a vital part of the curriculum. Our country needs to quit trying to kick God out of everything because a few people are "offended" at the mention of His name. Of course, with studying Revelation in Sunday school, we know that it isn't going to happen and that the plan is already written. It will only continue to get worse. Wow...how did I get onto this subject? Sorry for rambling! Great job with your post, Erin!

I too am thankful that my children are alowed to pledge the flag and open each school day with prayer. It is sad that we have to raise them in times such as these!
