Play Date Downtown

Shanon and I met up yesterday and let Matthew and Hayden get out some of their pinned up energy. The weather was so nice for being outside playing.
They got tired of me telling them to look so I could take a picture. Matthew actually told me to leave him alone and let them play!
Anthony and Leland slept almost the whole time. This is the first of many playdates they have to look forward to.

End of The Season...Harvest Time

You know fall is right around the corner when the weather turns cooler and the fields get harvested and ready for the winter. I am soooo ready for fall to get here! I love this time of year when everything starts literally changing before your eyes, especially the temperature!

Remembrance

I saw this flag one day last week as I was driving past Lowcountry Produce. I just thought it was a nice sight. I didn't know when or if I would ever use the picture until it dawned on me that today is 9-11. Oh the price we pay for freedom!

OH YEAH!! The Raiders Rock the House!!!

We had our first game of the season today against the Bulldogs, and we won 12-6!!!! Hey, not a huge victory but our boys were as pleased as anything.Who are we? Raiders!!

Bubba, you're supposed to run straight through and follow the team. Why are you on your knees? Watch out Cheerleaders, they'll run ya'll over!
Ready, call heads or tails! And the Raiders will recieve the ball.
The future of Burton Raiders! I just realized I didn't get any good pics of Jimmy on the field playing. I was too busy running down the sidelines cheering!

Marshes of the Lowcountry

This is a shot of the trussel from Lobeco to Sheldon.
Cute shot of this duck on the water.

The marshes are so pretty and I love the smell of pluff mud! The winding little creeks are all so unique and mysterious.

Playin' Around

I took Matthew to the Pigeon Point park a couple of weekends ago for some quality mommy time between the two of us. We had a lot of fun. The weather was nice, and we had the whole park to ourselves! I think it is probably the best park in Beaufort, or at least in my opinion.

Flowers...

I took a stroll around my front yard this afternoon and took some pictures of some of my favorite flowers. The first is of a holder and sign at my front door. The second is of one of my magnolias. These are my all time favorite. I almost didn't get a picture of the flowers, they were almost dead. The last is just of one of my many lillies. They are so bright and cheery.

Old Sheldon Church

I believe this one speaks for itself. Even after destruction, this is a beautiful place.

Take time to reflect....

Every once in a while we all need to take a minute to reflect. Reflect on the important things that so often get overlooked. The world around us, our family and friends, what we have, and most of all what we don't have. Sometimes it's better not to have everything because this gives us a humble heart. Sometimes I have to take a step back and tell myself to slow down and take in all the good I am surrounded by so that not to miss a single moment. Like when I get impatatient with the boys. There will always be time tomorrow to clean house right? In our busy lives, we tend to always be in a hurry. Why is this? What is so important?

The Butterfly Effect

Jimmy and Matthew found this beautiful butterfly the other day in the Food Lion parking lot and had to bring it home. Jimmy was so gentle holding it and loved watching it move. Matthew on the other hand, was fine as long as it was contained in his bug box. The minute it touched him he freaked out. Of course I had to laugh. This boy will play with frogs, lizards and all kinds of other creatures but was scared of a harmless butterfly!
